We are a Bukinabé association committed to promoting unity, tolerance, and fraternity!
Established on January 10, 2019, the Association of Burkinabé in Toronto (ABT) and surrounding areas emerged from the essential needs of both established and newly arrived Burkinabé families in the greater Toronto area. Recognizing the importance of community support in the journey of integration into their new home of Canada, ABT serves as a vital platform for fostering connections, sharing cultural heritage, and extending mutual assistance.
Our approach
Our Mission
Our mission is to promote unity, tolerance, and fraternity!
We wish to promote Burkinabé culture, foster values of friendship and solidarity from Burkina Faso with other cultures. We also wish to strengthen solidarity among ABT members and establish collaborative and fraternal relationships with organizations pursuing similar objectives.
Our Vision
We want to build a world in Canada where no Burkinabé person feels alone and gets every possible help they need as soon as possible.
We want to bring together Burkinabé people and families in Toronto, creating a lively community where we celebrate our culture, connect with each other and other communities as well, and help one another. We do this through various events and programs, aiming to safeguard our rich cultural heritage while advancing integration and empowerment within Canadian society.
